I finally broke down and purchased 3D Hobbyist. I want to state that this is my opinion and you may have a different opinion. I have been doing fireworks for the last 15 years, the last 5 or so with Finale Fireworks. I had the pro version which was great, I was able to print labels and sort them, see racks, change some things around, it did the job. Was purchased at the same time as purchasing a large quantity of FireTEK kit but I still wanted to see what this kit was like, having tested it I much prefer the fireTEK kit so now this is surplus to requirements, would make a nice starter kit or even a nice addition to a current kit, very easily programmable using the built in touch screen or by uploading your script via the built in usb slot.

I bought this system last year with all the best intentions of using it more than I actually have. So rather that it gather dust, I’d rather it be used by someone. I have the following for sale:

1x FTH-48Fx Module
1x FTM-99Sx Remote
6x Rails
1x Splitter

Protective cases for both module and remote. Not Pelicase but very similar

Ethernet cables for all rails.

I paid over £1250 for the system, cases and cables. Only used a handful of times.

Sensible offers considered and I will post some...

PyroIgnitionControl and Cobra

I've just seen for the first time, mention of this free software, so I thought I'd download and have a play. Looks promising for creating scripts for my Cobra system.
Is this software still being developed? I downloaded V1.4.5 and used the cobra plugin to export the script. Then I noticed a beta V2.0 on WPS site, so downloaded that, but couldn't get it to work with the Cobra dll.
Can this software be set up to fire a Cobra system via PC through to the 18R2? It looks like it's meant to be...

Firing a show in Dover from France. 41km

Yesterday we fired a show at the Battle Of Britain Memorial Musuem near Dover... from France.

41km across the water using our state of the art FireByWire DigiPort radio technology.

Cobra module address

Hi,

Can a module address be changed on the module, of a 36m or a 18m. At present I’ve got 3 modules assigned to a04 a07 and a08, just want to change to 1 2 and 3 to make it easier on site for 3 firing locations.

Hi Guys

Im starting with a new company and they are using Galaxis gear (more specifically Galaxis 2) but I can't seem to find any manual or related information on the internet and all showtechnik sites seem to be shut down. I'm relatively newer, so any information on where to go to get started familiarizing myself with this gear and sofware until I can physically get my hands on it soon will be helpful. Just throwing it out there. Thanks for your time.

Cobra 18R - Considering Sale

Hi Folks

I am thinking about selling my Cobra 18R controller as it is presently surplus to requirements.

It’s still boxed and new and has not been used other than to see the pretty lights come on when it arrived and make sure it worked.

I’m gauging interest at the moment as to whether it’s something I should sell. The majority of shows I’m firing are scripted and often with audio so naturally it’s just a spare doing nothing as the 18R2 takes care of our shows.

Ideally looking for £150...

Taking firing systems on planes

has anyone got any experience of taking a firing system on a plane it contains sla batteries and will be packed into a hand luggage size peli case. Flight is within eu. Are there any restrictions or issues you’ve had?
To ship it by carrier costs about the same as return flights and two nights in a nice hotel and with two weeks off work and not much to occupy my time with, thought I may as well take it myself.

Reliability of Fireone Hardware

How has your experience been with control panels over their working life? Have you had faults develop, what and when/how frequently? Excluding battery replacement.

How was the process and cost involved of getting it repaired locally or by Fed ex back to Fireone in the US?

Should a person expect a panel to be faultless for 20 years especially if it is treated with TLC and only used seasonally.

Keen to get feedback as the repair costs can quickly add up to more than the original cost of the...

I expect it's a commonly asked question, but i am a complete electronic firing novice, so i'll have to ask it again :D
Which is the more reliable option? I noticed both seem to cost around the same, so that isn't a factor. Also what length of igniter is long enough?
