just out of interest
for those people who use cat6 cable, I have compared 3 cat6 patch cables from 3 different suppliers,
all are supposed to be 24awg, stranded, pure copper :-
resistance is for 2 wires (there and back), for a 10m length (rj45 fitted by manufacturer)
cable 1) 5.2 ohms
cable 2) 2.8 ohms
cable 3) 5.4 ohms
cable 2 is noticeably more flexible than 2) and 3)
I'm doubting 1) and 3) are pure copper but maybe copper clad aluminium
